GENERAL

  • GQ-01. Do I need special software to run Web-Based O&M?
      No. All you need is a common web browser, Internet Explorer and file viewers that are commonly available, such as Adobe Acrobat Reader, Autodesk TruView/Voloview, Ms Word, MS Excel, etc. to access your documents and plans.

  • GQ-02. Do I need any special or additional hardware to run Web-Based O&M?
      No special or additional hardware is required. Just make sure that there is sufficient hard disk space to store Web-Based O&M. Hard disk space required will depend on the volume of your documents and plans. A typical medium-sized project may require 20MB – 2GB of hard disk space.

  • GQ-03. Do I need special training to use Web-Based O&M?
      No special training is required unless you are not familiar with using a web-browser. Using Web-Based O&M is just like surfing the internet. As long as you are familiar with browsing the internet, you are ready to use Web-Based O&M.

  • GQ-04. What type of standard digital formats can I choose to digitize my documents and plans?
      You can choose any of the standard digital formats, such as PDF (recommended), TIFF, JPG, GIF, etc.

  • GQ-05. Can Web-Based O&M be accessed directly from CD/DVD-Rom?
      Yes, you can. Web-Based O&M will provide you the option to read directly from your CD/DVD-Rom. It works just like a portable offline website.

  • GQ-06. What is the difference between password and non-password setup disk?
      Password protected set up disk is a more secured option. You cannot access or deploy Web-Based O&M directly from the CD/DVD-Rom. You will need a password to install Web-Based O&M to your PC or server. This option will prevent unauthorized user to access to your information even if they have your setup disk. It will prompt for a password before any installation commences. Set up of Web-Based O&M and downloading of data files will not proceed without the correct password. Note that password will be pre-issued.

  • GQ-07. When can I engage your services?
      You can engage us anytime before, during or after completion of project. The most economical stage to engage us is near to project completion or during the T.O.P stage (before sending your approved documents and plans for mass photocopy and hard cover binding) because you can offset majority of the cost from the expense for photocopying and hard cover binding.

  • GQ-08. Can I incorporate existing softcopy of documents or plans to Web-Based O&M?
      Yes, you can. We will be able to incorporate them into Web-Based O&M according to the index and file name provided. We will also omit the digitization cost. Note that separate cost will be levied if indexing and file naming is required.

  • GQ-09. What is the hard disk space required?
      The exact hard disk space requirements are unable to be determined until Web-Based O&M is completed because it is volume-based dependant - total number of documents and plans you have for your project, as well as the contents and number of web-based user interfaces required to be customized. The estimation we can project as a guide based on our recommended digitization specifications for each volume of O&M manuals (approximately 500 pages in A4 size) would require about 50MB of hard disk space and each volume of drawings (approx. 50 sheets in A0 size) would require about 25MB of hard disk space.

  • GQ-10. Can my other projects be integrated in Web-Based O&M?
      Sure, you can. Web-Based O&M is built according to individual project on a modular basis. Thus, it is integration-ready if you decided to centralize the information of your multiple projects. We are able to customize an additional interface for all your project listings and link them to the individual projects. Contact us for more details on how you can have a centralize information for all your projects.

  • GQ-11. Will there any be annual licensing fee for Web-Based O&M?
      No, there will not be any annual licensing fee required. Web-Based O&M is built on open source codes which is non-proprietary. Thus, we do not impose any licensing fee. You only need to incur a one-time charge for our services based on per project and update basis.

  • GQ-12. Can I choose to customize the template of Web-Based O&M?
      Yes, you can. You can opt to customize the design of Web-Based O&M to suit your organization’s color scheme, font or any other preferences within the template.

  • GQ-13. Can I make changes to Web-Based O&M on my own?
      Yes, you can, as long as you have the knowledge and resources to do. Although we copyrighted Web-Based O&M, we issue the rights for owner to modify the content of Web-Based O&M for the same project. We will not restrict you to explore Web-Based O&M as it is written in open source codes. Just note the Terms and Conditions of Use in Web-Base O&M before proceeding to do your own modifications. If you are unsure of the terms and conditions, please contact us for more details.

  • GQ-14. When should I update Web-Based O&M?
      Depending on the frequency of changes you made to your existing buildings or construction projects, we recommend that to update your Web-Based O&M on a quarterly, half-yearly or yearly basis as it is more practical and economical. The higher the frequency of changes, the more frequent you should update your information. Contact us to update your Web-Based O&M as we are available anytime to do the updates for continuation of upgrading and retrofitting works.

  • GQ-15. Can I print my drawings from Web-Based O&M?
      Yes, you can. Simply point your cursor to the files you want and right click on the hypertext link. The file you selected will be opened by the appropriate program as your default file viewer depending on the format of the digitized files, i.e. PDF files will be opened directly from the browser with Adobe Acrobat Reader. Set your page setting and print. Please ensure that you the correct printer and setup for large format drawing printing.

  • GQ-16. How can I edit Web-Based O&M?
      We do not encourage self-editing unless you have the knowledge and resources to do so. If you intend to do self-editing, you can edit using any free HTML editor, such as Microsoft Notepad, NVU, etc. You can also use commonly available commercial software, such as Macromedia Dreamweaver, Microsoft Frontpage, etc. Please note that we will not provide any warranty for self-editing and other terms and conditions applied in the Terms of Use found in Web-Based O&M.

  • PQ-1. Do you have any technical specification available for tender specification?
      Yes, we have. You can request for a standard guide from us. This standard guide is prepared by us to assist you in specifying Web-Based O&M as part of your tender requirements. Please contact us to obtain this guide for your reference.

  • PQ-2. Can your technical specification be found in the eNPQS?
      No. This specification is not available in eNPQS yet. As such, we have prepared a standard guide to assist you in specifying the technical aspects of Web-Based O&M for your tender preparation.

  • PQ-3. Should I reduce the amount of hardcopy documents in my tender documents?
      Yes, you should. There is no need to specify multiple duplicate sets of hard cover binding documents and plans anymore since Web-Based O&M will be replacing them. We recommend specifying only one set of hard bound documents and plans. Keep only the original approved copies and specify the required copies in electronic format with Web-Based O&M stored in CD/DVD-Rom.
