Web-Based
O&M is a customized web-based archive system designed by WEIL
specifically to document operations and maintenance manuals, as-built
drawings and other building and construction documentation. It integrates
all individual building and construction services - Architectural,
Civil and Structural and Mechanical and Electrical services in electronic
web-based format.
Web-Based O&M is portable and browser-based,
created in the form of web pages with hypertext links linking to
the relevant digitized data files. The contents are organized systematically
in table of contents, file named and indexed according the original
documents and plans. It also has file searching ability with built-in
internal file search engine, as well as navigation menus that are
industry-driven.

Buildings
Web-Based O&M can be applied to any type of
buildings. It can aid comprehension of building's operations and
services in the area of building facilities management while keeping
documents and plans organized, in tact and manageable in the whole
building lifecycle.
Contractors and consultants can access information
quickly to troubleshoot and understand complex building information
easily. Critical information can also be made accessible to all
conveniently, from operations to management level.
Non-Buildings
Web-Based O&M can also be applied to non-buildings
development or construction projects, such as public infrastructure,
water or sewerage treatment plant, etc. Building developers, architects,
engineers and contractors can also engage the use of Web-Based O&M
simply for archiving purposes that will facilitate document handling,
information access and storage purposes. |

Web-Based
O&M adopts the use of digital imaging and web technologies.
Built on a client-side platform with open source codes – HTML,
JavaScript, etc., it is platform and vendor neutral.
All construction and digitized files are, either
non-proprietary or in standard digital formats, viewable using commonly
available web-browser or file viewer. It is operable, both online
and offline, be it for standalone PC or network usage.
Web-Based O&M is efficient, flexible and easily
adaptable to common digital platforms without the need of a web-server
or database management system, i.e. linkable to Computerized Maintenance
Management System (CMMS) or Integrated Building Management System
(IBMS).

Navigation Menus & Sub-Menus are industry-driven
and pre-categorized according to the content requirements in its
own category - individual services, update contents or any other
customized contents with hypertext links linking to the respective
main page.
Table of Contents with hypertext links linking
to the relevant data files are formatted in services, volume number,
chapters and indexes according to the original documents or drawing
lists available. The level of breakdown will be organized in the
form of nested lists according to its chapters, sections and sub-sections.
The industry’s conventional category will take precedence
to form the Table of Contents, i.e. Architectural, Civil & Structural
and Mechanical & Electrical, if no reference or instruction
is available.
Internal File Search Engine will be incorporated
in Web-Based O&M to facilitate file search function. Search
results will appear as hypertext links linking to the searched files.
Master Project Index, Project Info and Help Page
will form part of the content in Web-Based O&M. The Master Project
Index page will list all relevant projects and A&A works. The
Project Info page will integrate statutory planning details, emergency
contacts, update reference, CSC and other building details. Help
page will provide basic information on the use of Web-Based O&M
and overview of the contents available in Web-Based O&M.
